"Systematic Theology" By Charles Hodge
An abridgment of the most significant work of arguably the most influential Protestant American theologian of the 19th century, Charles Hodge (1797-1878). A teacher at Princeton Theological Seminary, Hodge has exerted enormous influence on American Christian thought through his godly life and writings, many of which continue still to be in print today. Of this abridgment, one seminary professor wrote, “Next to the republication of Calvin’s Institutes and Hodge himself unabridged, this is probably the century’s most important event in reformed systematic theology.” James M Boice noted, “For those unable to pursue the original edition, this abridgment presents the heart of Hodge’s theology in an attractive and readable format.” And Prof David Wells wrote, “It would be difficult to overestimate the influence that this study has had and continues to have….” Ed’s abridgment reduces the original 2000 page, 3 volumes to one very readable volume of 585 pages with helpful discussion questions at the end of each chapter. In print and available through P&R Publishing.
"Will My Children Go to Heaven? Hope and Help for Believing Parents"The cover states, “Does God love my children? Does his Word reveal his desire to save them? Can my prayers and actions really make a difference in their lives? Are the hearts’ desires of Christian parents more than mere wishful thinking? If you’ve wrestled with such questions you’re not alone. Edward N Gross has faced those questions too— as a parent, pastor, and seminary teacher. And he found God’s answer to be a resounding yes! ” Author Susan Hunt writes, “Dr Gross has taken a profound theological concept and made it readable and applicable for parents. The book gives biblical hope and practical help.” 177 pages, in print and available through P&R Publishing. “
"Miracles, Demons & Spiritual Warfare: An Urgent Call for Discernment" Are miracles for today? Does anyone have the gift of healing today? Is tongues- speaking an evidence of Spirit-baptism? Can believers be demon-possessed? Dr David Hesselgrave answers, “Such questions regularly engender more heat than light….Proponents on both sides of these issues … come to different conclusions, and then promote their conclusions with more passion than reason. Dr. Gross’s first concern is to discover what the Bible says concerning these matters and to set forth those teachings in an understandable and forthright manner.” This work went through several editions before going out of print. 174 pages, it is available used through amazon.com.
